Stoke City came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw with Freiburg in a pre-season friendly in Germany this afternoon.
The home side forced a corner almost straight away as they made an attacking start to the match, but a header was deflected wide.
However, Freiburg did take the lead moments later from their second corner as Felix Klaus rose highest to head the ball past Asmir Begovic.
The German side almost added another in the space of two minutes, but Ryan Shawcross was back to clear a low cross off the line.
Stoke finally managed to make their way down the other end, but Bojan Krkic could only fire wide after breaking into the Freiburg box.
Mame Biram Diouf started to appear threatening for the visitors, but lost out in a tussle with a defender before the Freiburg keeper cleared from a back-pass.
Diouf continued to look sharp and was able to get the Potters back on level terms shortly before the break when Shawcross played the ball down the left wing for the striker to collect and slot in.
Klaus tried to add a second for the Bundesliga side early in the second half, but Phil Bardsley made a sliding block to prevent the home side retaking the lead.
Robert Huth almost gifted the hosts a late winner when he tried to clear a cross which was almost turned into the Stoke goal, but Shawcross was able to make the block to secure the draw for Mark Hughes's side.
