Stoke City have reportedly yet to receive an official approach from Premier League champions Chelsea over a potential transfer for striker Peter Crouch.
The ex-England international is the latest name to have been linked with the Blues, who are said to have ended interest in West Ham United's Andy Carroll as he is carrying an injury.
Chelsea's pursuit of a targetman has seen them turn to another surprise option in Crouch, but Sky Sports News suggests that Stoke are still awaiting contact from the Londoners.
City are also rumoured to be reluctant to offload the former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur man even if an enquiry is made, as they do not have any replacements lined up to fill the void.
Crouch, who turns 37 later this month, is under contract with the Potters for another year.
