Stoke City's Dutch defender Erik Pieters has urged the club to consider signing his fellow countryman Luuk de Jong.
The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour at his German employers Borussia Monchengladbach in recent weeks, which has resulted in speculation that he could leave the club during the January transfer window.
If the striker does end up departing, Pieters has encouraged Stoke to make a move for his services.
"I played against him in Holland and he is a good player. He is a big striker with great technique and good scoring ability. He is tall, he is also good in the air. For his height, he's got a good technique to control and shoot," he told The Sentinel.
"From my opinion of him in Holland, I know he is a good player and would be really good here. I don't know if it's going to happen though, we will have to wait and see."
De Jong has been capped seven times by the Netherlands at senior international level.
