Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has reportedly identified Borussia Monchengladbach forward Luuk de Jong as a top January transfer target.
None of the Potters' strikers have scored more than two league goals this season and Hughes is keen to strengthen in the New Year.
De Jong's future at Borussia-Park appears to be uncertain following a fall-out with manager Lucien Favre.
The 23-year-old has made 11 Bundesliga appearances this season, but all have been as a substitute.
According to The Mirror, De Jong is desperate to leave Monchengladbach in order to boost his chances of earning a place in Holland's World Cup squad.
The paper also claims that Stoke are keen to offer De Jong first-team football and that the Potters sent a scout to watch him appear for seven minutes during Saturday's 2-1 win over Schalke 04.
