Stoke City Tony Pulis has admitted that he is looking to bolster his squad before Friday's 11pm transfer deadline.
The Potters have been largely frustrated in the transfer market this summer, culminating in a loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur's Tom Huddlestone falling through on Friday.
However, Pulis has stressed the importance of recruiting new players in order for his club to continue their progression over the last five seasons.
"We have an interesting and a busy week ahead I hope, so we can freshen up a little bit. We need to do that," he told reporters. "If we can do that, then fingers crossed, hopefully, we can push on.
"As a football club, you have to be careful, we've reinvested in a lot of stuff behind the scenes over the past five years.
"It hasn't just been on the pitch and the chairman has been absolutely wonderful so we have to wheel and deal a little bit more this year from what we've done before."
Pulis was speaking after seeing his side draw 0-0 with Arsenal this afternoon.
