Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has played down reports that he is planning a swoop for Stoke City's Peter Crouch in the January transfer window.
The Potters forward is out of contract in the summer and could be available for the cut-price move in the New Year, but Redknapp has ruled out the possibility of a switch.
He told reporters: "I saw [Stoke manager] Mark Hughes saying today that they're looking to give him a new contract. He belongs to Stoke anyway so we've never discussed with anyone at Stoke for Peter Crouch.
"There are lots of players you'd like but he belongs to Stoke so that's not a goer really. Of course in January it's always difficult to find the players you want.
"I'm sure there will be players out there who can come and help us."
