Stoke City have agreed a fee with Sunderland for the signing of midfielder Lee Cattermole, according to a report.
Sky Sports News claims that the 25-year-old is on his way to Stoke to complete his medical after learning that Sunderland have accepted a bid for him.
Earlier on Friday, Black Cats manager Gus Poyet confirmed that Stoke had made a bid for Cattermole, but was coy on whether he would let him leave.
It has now been reported that that offer has been accepted by Sunderland, and that the former Wigan Athletic midfielder will join Stoke in the coming hours.
Stoke are currently 16th in the Premier League table, while Sunderland are a place and a point behind them.
