Stoke City have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Dwight Gayle and Benik Afobe this summer to help them bounce back from relegation to the Championship.
Gayle scored 23 goals for Newcastle United in 2016-17 to help them return to the Premier League, while Afobe scored six goals for Wolverhampton Wanderers last season en route to promotion.
According to The Mirror, new Potters boss Gary Rowett is holding a transfer summit this week to step up his spending plans and has identified the two strikers as key targets.
The report claims that Rowett wants proven consistent Championship performers to get Stoke - who were relegated from the top flight last term - back up at the first attempt.
The Staffordshire side made their first summer signing on Monday by bringing in Nigeria international Oghenekaro Peter Etebo from Portuguese side Feirense.
