Hannover have reportedly opened talks with Stoke City defender Kevin Wimmer regarding a possible transfer this summer.
In August, Stoke opted to pay £18m in order to sign Wimmer from Tottenham Hotspur, but the Austrian international has failed to impress during his time at the bet365 Stadium.
The 25-year-old made 17 appearances in the Premier League this season but the last of those came in January and according to the Daily Mail, efforts are already underway to sell the player.
Stoke allegedly accept that they will not be able to recoup close to the fee that they shelled out on Wimmer last summer, but remain keen to get the centre-back off the wage bill at the earliest opportunity.
Hannover appear ready to offer Wimmer an opportunity to return to the Bundesliga, where he represented FC Koln during the 2014-15 campaign.
