Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan has admitted that he is 'unsure' whether he will remain at the Britannia Stadium beyond the end of the current season.
The 30-year-old's current deal expires this summer and talks over a fresh contract have yet to prove fruitful.
"There's obviously been one or two things said from both sides, but at the moment anything could happen," he told the club's official website.
"I've got myself back in the team now and my aim is to stay in so I can prove people right and wrong.
"For me personally, I only have five months left and ideally I want to stay here but if not then I'm playing to go somewhere else. We will have to see what happens over the coming weeks and months."
Whelan joined Stoke from Sheffield Wednesday in 2008 and has gone on to make 243 appearances for the club.
