Lazio have taken firm control of their Europa League last-16 tie against Stuttgart by recording a 2-0 first-leg win away in Germany.
The Serie A outfit dominated possession and deservedly broke the deadlock on 21 minutes, when Ederson's left-footed strike from 18 yards nestled in the bottom right corner of Sven Ulreich's net.
Ulreich was beaten again just before the hour mark, as Ogenyi Onazi lashed home from just inside the penalty area.
Shinji Okazaki had a gilt-edged chance to reduce the deficit moments later, but he scuffed his effort wide from very close range.
The second leg will take place in Rome a week today.
