Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley has thanked the club's fans for their support this season, following last night's cup triumph.
The Black Cats, who were forced to face Middlesbrough on the road after failing to overcome them at the Stadium of Light last month, secured an 2-1 extra-time win at the Riverside Stadium to progress to the fifth round.
Speaking after the match, Bardsley dedicated the performance to the fans.
"The fans make so much noise and have travelled in their thousands for us again," he said.
"We know it is difficult for them in the current climate with finances. The support was wonderful and this win is for them as well.
"We knew this game would be a difficult test and we let Middlesbrough back in. But we came here to get through to the next round and we've achieved that."
Sunderland take on Arsenal in the next round after the sides first meet in the league this weekend.
