Sunderland striker Jozy Altidore believes that his side's supporters have every right to be angry with their team.
The Black Cats fell to a 4-0 defeat to Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in Gus Poyet's first game in charge of the club.
Altidore wrote on Twitter: "Some passionate fans here at SAFC who have every right to be upset. We need to be better."
Sunderland are bottom of the Premier League and have taken just one point from their opening eight fixtures.
