Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley has hailed the performance of Simon Mignolet in his side's draw with Southampton.
The Belgium international made several crucial stops to earn the Black Cats a point at the Stadium of Light after the former Manchester United full-back had given them the lead.
"We know what Simon's capable of; he's pulled us out of the deep end sometimes – as I say he's a fantastic goalkeeper," Bardsley told the club's official website.
"I was delighted to get on the scoresheet, but disappointed that we only got a draw – I thought we were going to go on and win the game.
"When we scored I thought we built confidence on that and, as I say, it's disappointing [not to have won]."
Sunderland are 17th in the Premier League and are four points clear of 18th-place Wigan Athletic, who have two games to play this season.
