Sunderland winger Will Buckley is desperate to prove himself at Sunderland if given the opportunity to do so.
Buckley joined from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer and has only featured once for the Black Cats since his move.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet indicated that the 24-year-old would retain his place for his side's upcoming game against Swansea City, after impressing in the defeat against Stoke City on Tuesday.
"[Poyet's comments were] good to hear personally, but we were all disappointed with the result against Stoke and not getting to the next round," the winger told the Sunderland Echo.
"Obviously I've come here and I want to play. I've been bought to produce.
"Hopefully I can get minutes in the Premier League to show that. All the players who haven't been playing are eager to play."
The Black Cats host Swansea at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
