Sunderland winger Emanuele Giaccherini has admitted that he was disappointed that his side lost on his return to action in their defeat to Hull City.
The 29-year-old made his first appearance since September after recovering from an injury, but was powerless to stop his slumping to their third home loss of the season against the Tigers.
"I'm very disappointed with the result, today it was a very important game for us on the back of the win last weekend," Giaccherini told the club's official website.
"We were in control after we scored, it was a very good start but then I think luck wasn't on our side.
"It started with their goal and there were a few more things that didn't go our away. After that it was difficult for us to get back in the game."
Gus Poyet's men are 14th in the Premier League following their defeat at the Stadium of Light.
