Sunderland defender John O'Shea is hopeful that interim head coach Kevin Ball will continue in his role at the club.
Ball guided the Black Cats to a win in his first game in charge over Peterborough United, but couldn't stop his side falling to a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League.
O'Shea told Sky Sports News: "He's been fantastic. Everything is fairly straightforward. You know exactly where you lie with Bally and the players have enjoyed it.
"Hopefully that will continue but we'll wait and see."
Sunderland are 20th in the Premier League after six games this season.
