The Football Association has charged both Norwich City and Sunderland for failing to ensure that players and staff members conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
Players from both sides, as well as Black Cats boss Sam Allardyce, confronted each other on the touchline in the early stages of Saturday's Premier League basement battle at Carrow Road after a hefty challenge on DeAndre Yedlin.
Sunderland went on to win the match 3-0, ending their six-game winless run and closing to within a point of Norwich, on whom they have a game in hand, outside the relegation zone.
The two clubs have until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge.
