Paolo Di Canio has said that he is yet to decide whether Lee Cattermole has a future at Sunderland.
The midfielder is not part of the Black Cats' squad for their pre-season trip to Hong Kong, where new signing Cabral has been wearing Cattermole's number six shirt.
When asked by reporters whether the 25-year-old will remain with the club, the manager said: "We will see. It depends.
"He couldn't come [to Hong Kong] because he was not fully fit, in the opinion of both myself and the fitness coach.
"He is training with the reserves and then when we get back to Sunderland, he will be ready."
Sunderland will play Manchester City in the final of the Asia Cup in Hong Kong tomorrow.
