Asamoah Gyan has admitted that he has not spoken to parent club Sunderland since making the move to Al Ain on a loan transfer.
The 26-year-old striker has been linked with a permanent switch to the United Arab Emirates club after impressing in the last eight months of his temporary stay.
Despite Gyan previously expressing his desire to leave the Black Cats, the Ghana international has claimed that he is in the dark over his future.
"I haven't spoken to anybody from Sunderland since I've been here," The Express quotes Gyan as saying. "I heard the manager wanted to call me, I waited for his call, but no call came. I'm still here."
Sunderland captured Gyan for a club record of £13.4m in 2010.
