Sunderland have reportedly made enquiries about a loan move for Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies.
The 34-year-old has been linked to a number of clubs after a limited role for the Trotters this season.
The Black Cats have now singled out Davies as a temporary replacement for the injured Nicklas Bendtner, according to The Guardian.
The Dane has been ruled out for a "lengthy spell" after he suffered facial injuries during Saturday's win against Swansea City.
