Sunderland are reportedly close to completing season-long loan deals for Everton pair Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway, while Aiden McGeady could also join permanently.
Black Cats boss Simon Grayson is keen to strengthen his squad ahead of his first campaign in charge, having succeeded David Moyes in the Stadium of Light hotseat last week.
Defensive duo Browning and Galloway could be the first to come on board, as Sky Sports News reports that they are heading to Wearside to undergo medicals.
Republic of Ireland international McGeady is also on Grayson's radar following their spell together at Preston North End last season, but talks over a transfer are said to be ongoing at this stage.
A number of players have departed the North-East club on the back of relegation from the Premier League, including Jermain Defoe and Fabio Borini who have joined Bournemouth and AC Milan respectively in the past few days.
