Sunderland are believed to be keen on luring Bolton Wanderers frontman Kevin Davies to the Stadium of Light.
The 34-year-old, who has found himself dropped on a number of occasions this season, is reportedly being targeted as cover for Martin O'Neill's depleted strike force.
It is understood that the striker may be willing to leave the Lancashire club in search of first-team opportunities with Sunderland being a possible destination, according to the Daily Mail.
The former Blackburn Rovers forward comes to the end of his current deal in the summer and is thought to be looking for an 18-month contract.
