Sunderland are believed to be ready to meet Wolverhampton Wanderers' £12m valuation of striker Steven Fletcher.
The Black Cats have had previous bids of £10m and £11m rejected by the Championship club.
However, they are now prepared to offer what Wolves consider a fair price for the 25-year-old, according to the Sunderland Echo.
Fletcher scored 12 times last season as the Midlands side dropped out of England's top tier.
