Sunderland have reportedly decided to reject Cardiff City's interest in forward Josh Maja.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed an excellent season at the Stadium of Light, with 15 goals being scored from 25 outings in League One.
However, the youngster has less than six months remaining on his contract, and Sunderland are looking to cash in on the player before the end of the January transfer window.
Cardiff are allegedly keen on Maja, but The Sun reports that the Black Cats will not accept a bid in the region of £2m and are said to be demanding double that figure.
A number of clubs in England and Germany are admirers of the youngster, who is said to be content to remain in the North-West until the summer.
Manager Jack Ross has indicated that Maja could be sold before staying at Sunderland on loan until the end of the season.
