Sunderland have reportedly edged closer to signing Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jason Steele and Bournemouth striker Lewis Grabban.
Steele made 41 Championship appearances for Blackburn last season but could not prevent them from dropping into League One.
Grabban, meanwhile, made just three substitute appearances in last season's Premier League and spent the second half of the season on loan at Reading.
According to Sky Sports News, the duo are due on Wearside on Wednesday to undergo medicals and finalise moves to the Stadium of Light.
The report goes on to say that Steele will sign a permanent deal at the Championship club while Grabban will join on a season-long loan.
Sunderland have brought in four players since their relegation, taking Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning on loan from Everton and signing Aiden McGeady and James Vaughan on permanent deals.
