Keiren Westwood has reportedly been in talks over a move to Sheffield Wednesday after being released by Sunderland last week.
The goalkeeper is available on a free transfer after coming to the end of his contract at the Stadium of Light.
According to Sky Sports News, the 29-year-old is close to a move to the Championship side, but will not be able to play until November through injury, having undergone surgery on a shoulder problem earlier this year.
Westwood featured in just 24 matches for Sunderland after moving to the club from Coventry City in 2011.
