Swansea City boss Carlos Carvalhal has praised his players for their performance against Liverpool, but has insisted that the gameplan was one of necessity rather than choice.
The Welsh outfit are desperately in need of some points as they currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table, three points from safety.
On Monday night, the Swans took a step closer to survival as they frustrated Liverpool and came away with a 1-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.
"We did mistakes when we played Liverpool before but today they were ready for that," Carvalhal told Sky Sports News. "Inside the pitch we played one, two touch and played to the sides to be out of pressure.
"We have the fortune to get a goal and after that, playing against a strong team and my team needing points. It is not how we want to play but in this moment we need the points."
Alfie Mawson was the only scorer of the game.
