Swansea City boss Paul Clement says that his players only turned up for the second half against Watford, which he puts down to his own poor decision-making.
Clement 'takes responsibility' for defeat

Paul Clement has confessed that he is to blame following Swansea City's 'poor display' against Watford at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans' disappointing home run continued as they slipped to a third successive defeat in front of their supporters, going down 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Swansea went with a 5-3-2 formation from the off after picking up a point against Tottenham Hotspur last week with an identical system, but Clement admits that he got it wrong on this occasion as he held his hands up following this latest setback.

"We played really poorly in the first half and I have to take responsibility for that because I chose the shape of the team," he told reporters. "I chose the lineup and it proved to be incorrect and I think I did the right thing to make the changes at half time in terms of the shape and personnel.

"We took the initiative, had a lot more control of the game and got back in it. There looked like there was only one team who would go on and win it at that point. But, in that position you must make sure you do not lose the game and when I look back at their two goals they are gifts.

"On reflection that was a 95-minute game we only played for 40 minutes. That is not good enough. I am very disappointed for the supporters, they have come here to see their side play three times at home and we have lost every game. It is supposed to be easier at home, for some reason at the moment it is not.

"We played really well here at the end of last season. The crowd were disappointed with the first-half performance and I can understand that, I felt the same. Over the period of the game it was not enough."

Swansea have lost three home league games on the spin for the first time under one boss since January 2014 when Michael Laudrup was in charge.
