Mike Dean has been appointed the referee for Sunday's South Wales derby between Cardiff City and Swansea City.
Dean was in charge of the same fixture when they met in the Championship in 2009 and was struck by a coin thrown from the crowd just before the half-time interval.
He went on to award Cardiff a late penalty that saw Ross McCormack score from the spot to rescue a 2-2 draw for the Bluebirds at Ninian Park.
Cardiff were not punished following the incident, although then-manager Dave Jones and chairman Peter Ridsdale publicly condemned the fan's actions.
Sunday's match will be the first top-flight meeting between the fierce rivals.
