Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has claimed that his team did not deserve to lose at Swansea City in Saturday night's key Premier League fixture.
Federico Fernandez scored the only goal of the match in the 53rd minute as Swansea inflicted a 21st league defeat of the season on Villa, who remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Garde has bemoaned his side's inability to take their chances in the first half, but does not believe that Swansea did enough to deserve all the points at the Liberty Stadium.
"It's very hard to take because they had only one shot on goal and they scored. I think we controlled the game in the first half, but we didn't score a goal in our good periods," Garde told reporters. "I thought we played quite well in the middle of the pitch, but not so good in the two boxes."
Villa are now 12 points from safety with just seven matches to play in England's top flight.
