Former Cardiff City defender Jason Perry believes that Garry Monk should bring in an experienced assistant at Swansea City to help him next season.
The 35-year-old is expected to take on the permanent managerial role at the Liberty Stadium after reportedly being offered a two-year deal.
Despite Monk keeping the Swans in the Premier League, Perry believes that he will need an extra bit of guidance alongside Alan Curtis.
"He does need a little bit of help," Perry told BBC Radio Wales Sport. "Somebody that's young, dynamic similar to himself with bright ideas and plays the same way as they demand at Swansea City.
"Maybe someone like Eddie Newtown. A number two to go with Alan Curtis, who has done a fabulous job, and keep the staff. Get somebody in there that's been there."
Monk was handed the role on an interim basis following Michael Laudrup's departure in February.
