Swansea City have confirmed that they have released Craig Beattie and Tom Butler, leaving the players free to find new clubs.
The duo's contracts had been due to expire this summer, but with neither player appearing for the Swans in the top flight so far this season the club decided to bring a premature end to their time at the Liberty Stadium.
Beattie, 28, became the club's record signing when he joined from West Brom for £800,000 in 2009, but has become surplus to requirements since the arrivals of Leroy Lita and new record signing Danny Graham.
Butler, meanwhile, joined the club in 2006 and was a part of the side that won the League One title in 2008. However, he missed last season through injury.
Swansea currently sit tenth in the Premier League and face Sunderland on Saturday.
