Swansea City's Ferrie Bodde has suffered a fresh injury setback, leading to fears he may quit football.
The Dutchman has returned to his homeland for tests, with staff worried that he has suffered yet another serious cruciate ligament injury.
Although the injury is not in the knee which has plagued Bodde's career for over three years, there are serious concerns that the 29-year-old will never play again.
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers told the South Wales Evening Post: "It's devastating for Ferrie to be injured again.
"It's been a really, really long journey for him as he has tried to get fit, and he was back training and back playing in the reserves.
"For him to damage his other knee after just a couple of minutes [of the reserve game against Arsenal on Wednesday] is so disappointing.
"Ferrie is a terrific guy and I feel so sad for him."
Bodde signed from ADO Den Haag for £85k in 2007.
