Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm has admitted that he turned his back on a dream move to Ajax in a bid to become a top shotshopper.
The 28-year-old arrived in Wales in the summer after fellow countrymen Dorus de Vries quit the Championship play-off winners to join Wolves.
"When I was 13, I had a chance to sign for Ajax. But I was approached by my home-town team Utrecht," Vorm told Sky Sports.
"I thought I'd get a better chance there so I signed. I worked hard and was first choice at 21. After seven years I'm here."
The Dutch international has conceded just two goals in six home games this season and will attempt another shut-out against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
