Swansea City captain Ashley Williams has declared that their performance in the all-Welsh clash with Cardiff City this afternoon fell well short of the required standard.
Steven Caulker's goal settled a tight match at the Cardiff City Stadium, earning Welsh bragging rights for the Bluebirds in the first ever top-flight meeting between the two teams.
Williams told Sky Sports News: "We did not play well, we did not get into our rhythm and we did not pass it well enough.
"We weren't solid enough off the ball, and we didn't show enough heart, in my eyes.
"It was bitterly disappointing. I don't think we played well, I don't think we showed enough desire."
Victory this afternoon was enough to see Cardiff leapfrog Swansea in the Premier League, leaving Michael Laudrup's side sat 13th in the table.
