Ashley Williams has claimed that Swansea City can take confidence from their performance in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
James Milner scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after Neil Taylor was penalised for handball, and Swansea were unable to avoid making it four matches without a win in the Premier League.
Despite failing to collect a point at Anfield, Williams believes that the display was proof that Garry Monk's side are heading in the right direction.
"We have been unlucky with the penalty decision, on another day you don't see them given, so we are disappointed and frustrated to lose that way," the Swansea captain told the club's website.
"But looking at the game positively, we had a much better performance compared to our draw against Bournemouth last week.
"I felt it was more what we expect from ourselves, and the work rate and the desire on the pitch means we have something to build on ahead of next week."
Swansea sit four points above the relegation zone in 15th.
