Dutch midfielder John Goossens has turned down the opportunity to join Premier League side Swansea City.
Instead, the 23-year-old will see out the remainder of the season with NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie.
Swansea thought they had captured Goossens's services when they agreed a fee with NEC last month.
However, the Dutch club have now confirmed that their player will remain with them until the summer.
He is out of contract at the end of the campaign and is now expected to join Feyenoord on a free transfer.
