Welsh rivals Swansea City and Cardiff City are reportedly ready to battle it out for the signature of France international Bafetimbi Gomis.
Newly-promoted Cardiff have been trailing the Lyon striker for several months and would have to smash their transfer record to land him.
According to The Mirror, Gomis would cost around £12m, and Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has been in France to discuss summer transfer targets this week.
That was after Jenkins had decided to deal with transfer matters himself, having fallen out with Michael Laudrup's agent Bayram Tutumlu.
It is thought that the row could lead to Laudrup's departure as manager, but nevertheless, Jenkins is working hard to secure new signings ahead of the new season.
