Swansea City have completed the signing of defender Alfie Mawson from Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League outfit, keeping him at the Liberty Stadium until 2020.
Mawson played a major role in helping Barnsley to Football League Trophy glory and promotion from League One last season, making 58 appearances and cleaning up at the club's end-of-season awards.
That form prompted Swansea to lodge a bid thought to be in the region of £5m for the young defender, and his move to South Wales has now been finalised.
Mawson, who becomes Swansea's sixth signing of the summer, could make his debut against Chelsea after the international break.
