Stuart Pearce's Great Britain side have made a strong start to their Olympic campaign, leading Senegal 1-0 at half-time of their opening match.
Britain dominated possession throughout the early stages, without turning it into meaningful chances, while Senegal were also struggling to test Jack Butland in the GB goal.
Pearce's men took the lead within 20 minutes as two of the experienced players combined. Craig Bellamy thumped the ball home from inside the box following a Ryan Giggs free kick.
Butland almost gifted Senegal an equaliser seven minutes after, presenting the ball straight to Sadio Mane, but the midfielder just missed the target from inside the box.
Giggs once again turned provider just before half-time, finding Daniel Sturridge with a long pass, but the Chelsea man couldn't apply the finish.
If the result should stay the same, England would move level on points with Uruguay at the top of Group A after the South American side beat UAE 2-1 earlier today.
