William Saliba has been named in the starting lineup for Arsenal's Premier League clash with West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium, but Takehiro Tomiyasu is not involved.

Saliba played a peripheral role for France as they reached the World Cup final, and he has been given the green light to return to the starting lineup alongside Gabriel Magalhaes at the back.

However, there is no place for the injury-hit Tomiyasu, while Oleksandr Zinchenko has been passed fit for a place among the substitutes after recovering from a minor calf issue.

Zinchenko's inclusion on the bench means that Kieran Tierney starts at left-back, with Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale unsurprisingly completing the backline for the hosts.

Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey form the base of the midfield, with Martin Odegaard captaining the side from the number 10 position and being flanked by the returning Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

With Gabriel Jesus facing a lengthy period out with a knee injury, Eddie Nketiah is handed his first opportunity to impress up front in the Brazilian's absence, while there is a space on the bench for 17-year-old Amario Cozier-Duberry, who impressed in Arsenal's winter friendlies.

As for West Ham, Michail Antonio has shaken off a calf problem to start up front, but Gianluca Scamacca is absent with an ankle injury.

Arsenal starting lineup: Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Nketiah
Subs: Turner, Cedric, Holding, Zinchenko, Elneny, Lokonga, Vieira, Marquinhos, Cozier-Duberry

West Ham starting lineup: Fabianski; Coufal, Kehrer, Dawson, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Benrahma; Antonio
Subs: Areola, Johnson, Ogbonna, Emerson, Downes, Coventry, Lanzini, Fornals, Mubama body check tags ::
