Alfreton Town have earned a 3-1 half-time advantage over AFC Telford United in their bottom-of-the-table clash in the Conference Premier.
Fresh from their opening win of the season on Saturday, Alfreton began confidently and took the lead on 11 minutes through Andi Thanoj who saw his long-range effort take a wicked deflection before finding the back of the net.
However, it took AFC Telford just six minutes to find an equaliser through Tony Gray, who latched on to a clearance before finishing past the goalkeeper.
In what had turned out to be a frantic start, the home side regained the lead before the 20-minute mark when Tom Shaw directed a volley past the outstretched arm of Jonathan Hedge.
After the initial flurry of goals, the remainder of the half turned into a scrappy affair with neither side being able to create a clear opening.
However, after the match had entered first-half injury time, Alfreton netted a third when Joe Ironside powered through the AFC Telford defence before providing a clinical finish.
