The African Nation Championship continues in Cameroon, and Togo take on Rwanda in the final round of group stage matches on Tuesday evening.

Togo are second in Group C with three points from two matches, while third-placed Rwanda are still searching for their first win at the tournament.

Match preview

Newcomers Togo will aim to continue their sensational run as they head into the final fixture in Group C of the CHAN tournament.

Just as they stunned Nigeria in the qualifiers, the competition's underdogs have continued their heroics in Cameroon, as they sit second in the group with three points from two games.

In their last time out, they shocked group favorites Uganda to grab their first win of the tournament, securing a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from midfielder Abdou-Samiou Tchatakora and ASC Kara star Richard Nane.

The Togolese squad traveled from Douala to the city of Limbe, as this fixture is scheduled to be held at the 20,000-capacity Limbe Omnisport Stadium.

The Sparrowhawks were accompanied by several government delegates, including representatives of the president of the Togo Football Federation, members of the nation's Executive Committee, as well as Togolese supporters living in Douala.

Head coach Jean-Paul Abalo and his 26-man squad conducted their first training session in Limbe in the early hours of Sunday, ahead of the crucial showdown on Tuesday night.

Their opponents Rwanda are making their fourth appearance at the African Nations Championship, after edging out Ethiopia in the qualifiers.

They are currently unbeaten at the tournament, but they have been largely unimpressive so far, failing to register a goal in their first two games.

After two goalless draws, the Amavubi are third in Group C, and will need a win to secure a quarter-final place, which is their best-ever finish to date.

While head coach Vincent Mashami must be worried about his underperforming frontmen, he will take positives from his side's performance at the other end of the pitch, where they have not conceded so far at the tournament.

Team News

Abdou-Samiou Tchatakora could be rewarded with another starting appearance, following a standout performance against the Cranes of Uganda, where he opened the scoring.

The Sparrowhawks will be without the services of midfielder Kokouvi Amekoudji, however, as he remains sidelined after picking up an injury last time out.

On the other hand, Rwanda have a full strength squad, and coach Vincent Mashami is expected to make a few alterations to the starting lineup from last week.

AS Kigali forward Eric Nsabimana could be included in the starting XI, potentially in place of Rashid Kalisa, who has failed to make his mark so far at the tournament.

APR forward Ernest Sugira is also expected to be handed a second straight start, after he was left out of the opening group game versus Uganda.

Togo possible starting lineup:
Aigba; Zonor, Issifou, Toudji, Madjedje; Ahoro, Akate; Nane, Tchakei, Adjahli; Agoro

Rwanda possible starting lineup:
Kwizera; Imanishimwe, Manzi, Mutsinzi, Omborenga; Kalisa, Niyonzima, Nshuti; Iradukunda, Tuyisenge, Nsabimana

We say: Togo 1-0 Rwanda

Despite an unbeaten start to the tournament, Rwanda have been unimpressive so far, while Togo will look to build on their win against Uganda and seal their first ever quarter-finals appearance.
