Torquay United look on course to continue their superb form after a goal from Aaron Downes gave them a 1-0 half-time lead against Dover Athletic.
Chances were few and far between as both teams struggled to impose themselves at Plainmoor, with Dover's Chris Kinnear going closest when he sent a header wide of the post.
Tom Bonner wasted another opportunity for the visitors, but Torquay came inches away from taking the lead after 26 minutes when Luke Young struck the crossbar from 25 yards.
Defender Tyrone Sterling almost capitalised on some indecision in the home side's defence shortly after the half-hour mark, but Torquay took the lead five minutes later when Aaron Downes prodded home from a Young corner.
Angus MacDonald almost doubled Torquay's advantage just before the half-time whistle but his close-range header was well kept out by Andy Rafferty.
