Southend United have confirmed that defender Adam Barrett has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The 35-year-old has made over 300 appearances for the Shrimpers during two spells at Roots Hall.
Barrett played 13 games for Southend during their promotion-winning campaign in League Two last season.
"I'm delighted and really pleased to put pen to paper for another year. I'm looking forward to next year already," he told the club's official website.
"It's great to know where I'll be next season. I have a lot to offer still and I'm still hungry for success. I'm over the moon. I had other offers but this was the only place I wanted to be. I want to play a big part next season."
Barrett's previous clubs include Leyton Orient, Plymouth Argyle, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
