Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale has hinted that he could play on beyond the end of the season.
The 37-year-old was due to retire in the summer, but scrapped plans to stay on for another year at the club.
He has been in impressive form in the opening weeks of the campaign and scored his 200th Serie A goal during Udinese's 1-1 draw with Chievo on Sunday afternoon.
"I want to thank all the teammates and coaches I worked with over the years, my wife, my children and my parents who are watching me from up there," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"I have six months to think about it and will talk things over with the Pozzo family. Whatever happens, there won't be any problems."
Di Natale is the seventh highest scorer in Serie A history and is now within five goals of equalling Roberto Baggio's haul of 205 strikes.
