Neither Udinese nor Napoli managed to find the net during their Serie A encounter at the Stadio Friuli this evening.
Chances were few and far between during the opening 45 minutes, with the best two arriving at the feet of Udinese captain Antonio Di Natale.
The first came on 16 minutes when he spun free inside the area, but only succeeded in lifting the ball over the crossbar. Then, two minutes before the break he had a similar opportunity which he again sent off target.
Di Natale continued to be involved after the restart and with 51 minutes played his deflected shot fell into the path of Roberto Pereyra, who lifted the ball over the bar from six yards out.
Napoli's best chance of breaking the deadlock came with 21 minutes left, but Edinson Cavani guided the ball wide of the target following a cross by Pablo Armero.
The away side are now six points behind leaders Juventus.
