USA midfielder Kyle Beckerman has urged his teammates to "give everything" when they face Germany at the World Cup on Thursday.
The Americans need just one point to reach the second round, having earned a win and a draw from their opening two games.
However, Beckerman acknowledges that his side are facing a tough task against the three-time champions in Recife.
"It'll be an incredibly tough game, so everybody will have to give everything," he told FIFA.com. "All 11 of us will have to defend and all 11 attack too, showing loads of spirit at all times. That's the only way we'll make it through."
The USA's best ever showing at the World Cup was back in 1930 when they reached the semi-finals of the inaugural tournament.
