Valencia boss Nuno has said that he was pleased with his side's performance in their Colonia Cup match against Porto on Saturday.
Neither team could break the deadlock in normal time, but it was Porto that triumphed on penalties courtesy of a sudden-death save from Iker Casillas.
Los Che's form in pre-season has been disappointing, but Nuno has insisted that the "outcome was positive" from their latest match.
"The outcome was positive, the team played with a clear philosophy. We must always demand more and continue improving," Nuno told reporters.
"We can work on what we do, and in that sense we're doing very well. I don't think we lacked chances. There's a project and we're continuing with it in an important way."
Valencia have lost four of their six pre-season matches this summer.
